Background

AEGON is one of the world's largest life insurance and pensions companies, employing around 4,500 people in the UK and over 27,000 people worldwide.

In the UK, it owns pensions, life insurance, asset management and advice businesses, including AEGON Scottish Equitable, AEGON Asset Management, Guardian Financial Services, Positive Solutions and Origen. AEGON Scottish Equitable (previously known as Scottish Equitable) is one of the UK's longest-established financial institutions, with over 175 years of experience in the pensions, savings and protection markets.

Line has worked with AEGON for over three years, following a previously successful long-term relationship with two of our directors at their former agency.

What we did

Originally simply commissioned to produce online versions of AEGON Scottish Equitable's offline advertising, Line's involvement in AEGON's digital communications has grown to include the, redesign and rebuild of AEGON SE's public website, the creation of various microsites, interactive tools and calculators, and digital consultancy for online brand development and marketing across many of the insurer's brands.

Specific projects include an integrated campaign to raise awareness of Business Protection seminars for financial advisers using a mixture of direct mail, web microsite, online registration, and subsequent personalised email marketing and direct telephone communication. In spite of the challenge of cross-media continuity participation, the campaign proved particularly successful with registration and attendance achieving 138% of the original target figures.
