Virtual Biergarten shuts its tent flaps after successful campaign

The Tennent's Wunderbar Virtual Beirgarten has shut its tent flaps after a successful world cup campaign. The most popular elements of the site included "Chat up the Barmaid", "Backpage Builder" — in association with The Sun — and "Big Hans" the virtual bookmaker.

The campaign used the website as a hub for information about the world cup and the Tennent's branded Uberbars where fans could watch the world cup in a Beirgarten setting. The website included a number of competitions including the redemption of t-shirts won inside 12-packs of Tennent's, a Flash based game of table fußball, and a "German-a-like" Wunderwall. One lucky better won a trip to Oktoberfest after turning his initial Fantasy 50 euros money into over 60,000 euros!

The site was backed up by online advertising, email marketing, in-bar promotion, POS and advertising.
