Line offer the world a view of the royal wedding
The royal wedding of His Royal Highness Prince Charles, The Prince of Wales and Camilla Parker Bowles is to be broadcast live on the internet, courtesy of Line.
In association with Fife-based Network Webcams, which is providing the actual pictures, Line has constructed a website which is expected to attract over two million users.
Network Webcams has hooked up with a hotel located across the street from Windsor Guildhall, where the wedding ceremony will be taking place. One static camera, and one remote-control camera will be perched on the hotel's roof to view the happy couple and their guests enter and depart the Guildhall.
Network Webcams previously put a camera on Dornoch Cathedral when Madonna and Guy Ritchie attended the christening service of their son, Rocco. It attracted 6.2 million visitors, the company said.
Line has developed software for Network Webcams called TrafficBuilder, which enables their customers to embed live camera feeds in websites.
Managing director, Ross Laurie, said: It's another nice job for us. This is exactly what TrafficBuilder was made for and it's fantastic that it's already being put to use on such a grand scale. On its first day the site served over 120GB of images
.
The website is www.royalweddingcam.com.
