“It's alive!” — new Film Festival website launches

Line have launched the 59th Edinburgh International Film Festival website today (13th July 2005).

Having won the contract in March this year following a three-way pitch the team have worked relentlessly on getting the site ready to coincide with the festival programme launch. The new site is built using XHTML and CSS, integrates seamlessly with the box office ticketing system (WTS) and is content managed to allow the EIFF to publish news stories, photos, etc to keep their audience updated during the busy festival period.

As the website is becoming an increasingly important part of the EIFF's marketing mix, there has been an enormous amount of pressure to deliver a fully functional site that embodies the EIFF as a whole as well as this year's campaign message: "films worth talking about".

Commenting on the launch Richard Baker, head of marketing at EIFF said, Line were the obvious choice. Technically the EIFF web team feel we are in safe hands and with their 'call a spade a spade' attitude married with an intuitive sense of common-sense graphic design, I feel we have an award winner on our hands.

The new site can be viewed at www.edfilmfest.org.uk. More information on the project can be found in "Our Work".
