Colourful new win for Line

New media agency Line has been awarded the contract to design, build and maintain the new Craig & Rose ecommerce website on the back of a string of new business wins.

The prestigious paint manufacturer approached Line to develop the site after identifying a market opportunity that could be capitalised via the internet. Line now face the challenge of developing a site that will embody the Craig & Rose brand and sub-brands as well as providing a framework for the many corporate clients, such as Crayola and Kelly Hoppen, who use Craig & Rose to manufacture their paint.

The new site will be ecommerce-enabled to allow customers to browse products and colours via the interactive site before making a purchase.

Craig & Rose Managing Director, Stephen Percy-Robb said, Craig & Rose are one of the oldest and most prestigious paint manufacturers in Britain and have a long heritage in the paint world with brands such as 1829 and Opulence. Our focus on the consumer, rather than trade, led us to the web and Line was the ideal choice for the job. Their understanding of the business needs as well as their design and technical capabilities made them an obvious choice.

The win coincides with the launch of a new public website for property developers Roxburgh Homes who approached Line following initial meetings to asses the viability of the web as a cost-effective route to market. The new site — www.roxburghhomes.co.uk — allows potential customers to view properties, plots and testimonies as well as register for updates on new developments they are interested in. The site is content managed to allow Roxburgh Homes to update the site as and when new developments become available, is optimised for search engines and is DDA compliant.

Other recent new projects Line have been awarded include:

  • Scottish Equitable — online advertising
  • BBC Top Gear — online promotional initiatives and email marketing
  • BDG McColl — new public site for the Edinburgh-based architects

Commenting on the new wins Ross Laurie, managing director of Line, said, This has been a great end to 2005 for us. We have been awarded the online advertising for Scottish Equitable, began work on a number of web-based initiatives for Top Gear, launched a fantastic new property site, extended our contract with Network Webcams and now we're about to start work with one of the most highly-regarded paint manufacturers in the country. Clients are coming to us now based on our growing reputation and it feels good to deliver web-projects that have a business benefit. This is exactly why we set up the agency.
